Once your application has been reviewed, your personal English Apple
representative will contact you.

You will have a telephone interview with the executive director (or
in person when possible) depending on where you live. Phone calls
are always pre-arranged by e-mail, so there are no surprise calls
from us. This is not an official job interview, but rather an assessment
of the applicant's suitability for being placed in one of our schools.
The applicant's attitude and behavior are carefully assessed, as well
as how likely they will be able to adapt to new cultural environment.

After the interview, we will send a confirmation e-mail, asking you
to confirm that you want to teach in Korea. With your confirmation
reply, we begin searching for a school that meets your preferences;
such as location, pay, grade level, right timeline and so on.

When a school or institute decides to hire you, we offer you a contract. We verify the working and living conditions including all the benefits that you deserve. You will then have 2-3 days to review the contract and notify us of your decision to accept or decline the offer.

Upon acceptance of the contract, you will need to mail out the following official documents directly to the school in Korea to obtain an E-2 visa (work permit) from the Korea Immigration Department:
All contracts are for one year only, and usually begin the day after the applicant arrives in Korea.
You should send all required documents to the school directly by a secure courier company such as
DHL, FedEx or UPS. Please e-mail us the tracking number for your package.
When the employer receives your documents, they are submitted to Korean
immigration to obtain a Visa Issuance Number. The visa processing time varies from five to fourteen days, depending
on the immigration office.
We make the flight arrangements with consent of the employer to ensure the suitable flight. It is important to reserve your flight early to secure a lowest fare available.
We highly recommend that you do not arrange your travel independently. It is important that we are fully aware of your travel plans and coordinate it carefully with the airport pick-up and driver or bus schedule to your city, as well as the individual from your school that will be picking you up. As there is much room for complication, we strongly advise that you allow us to arrange your travel for a smooth transition.
We deal with travel agents in New York and Los Angeles that give good prices. They send an electronic ticket as soon as you purchase your ticket. If you want to buy cheaper ticket to Korea, usually the United Airlines, Northwest or Singapore Airlines are recommended.
Once we reserve the flight, we will send you the itinerary. You can then call our travel agency and purchase the flight.
* Note that if you are going to Korea, you must pay for your airfare yourself at this time. The airfare will be refunded within 2 weeks of arriving in Korea. Before you leave, we'll let you know who is going to meet you at the airport when you arrive.
When the teacher's visa has been approved, Korean Immigration issues a Visa Issuance Number, which we'll send you by e-mail. Once you receive it, you need to take or send this number to a Korean Consulate or Embassy using overnight express mail, along with the following documents:
1. Visa Issuance Number
2. Actual Passport
3. A completed, signed Visa Application
Form
4. Consul's Checklist for E-2 Applicant
5. A recent passport-sized color photo
6. Visa application fee ($45 USD) - Korean Consulate only accepts cash or money order,
not personal check.
* If mailed, Self Addressed Stamped Envelope should be included in your package.
Make sure this is also an overnight express mail envelope.

The local Korean consulate or Embassy will stamp the Visa in your passport and send it back via the prepaid postage method. The E-2 Visa usually takes between three and five business days to process when sent in by courier. However, if you personally go to the Korean Consulate along with your Visa Issuance Number, you can obtain your E-2 Visa the next day. Once you have your passport with the Visa in hand, you can then depart for Korea anytime.
Due to the changes in obtaining the E-2 Visa, starting December 15th, 2007, you need to have an interview with the Consul in order to be issued the E-2 Visa. We would like you to call the nearest Korean Consulate to double-check the documents that you need to submit and see if you can schedule an interview with the Consulate couple of days after they receive your documents.
